Dr. Saeed Ganji was born in Tehran, Iran. He came to the United States to study in late 1973. He advanced his educations by receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (1978), a Master of Science degree in Power Systems, Transmission and Distribution (1981) from George Washington University, Doctoral of Science degree in Power Systems, Transmission and Distribution (1988) from George Washington University, and he completed his Ph.D. in Digital Signal Processing (2005) from Howard University. His Ph.D. thesis was on Image Understanding Based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) And Stochastic Learning Automata (SLA).
Dr. Ganji spent numerous years as a professor in the Department of Electrical engineering at George Washington University, teaching electronics related courses as well as other local universities in Washington, DC metro area. He is a member of PES, SPS, and IEEE societies.
Dr. Ganji joined Electrocom Corporation in 2003 and continues to serve as the President and the Chief Executive Officer of the company, a R&D engineering firm where they conduct research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology concentrating in tubes and wires, Sensor Technology including OLED (organic light emitting diode) and long-wavelength light-emitting devices (InGaAsN), Semiconductor Device Electronics to include Superlattice, Transistors, Diodes, and other Electronic Devices such as MISFETs (metal insulator semiconductor field effect transistor), MODFETs (modulated-doping FET also known as the High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT), HBTs (hetrojunction bipolar transistor- a high mobility, compound semiconductor bipolar transistor used in RF and radar applications), and discrete or continuous Digital Signal processing (DSP) to improve accuracy in image recognition technology. Dr. Ganji is a co-author of many lecture notes, the most recent ” Model for quantum Confinement in Nanwires and the Study of Carrier Mobility in Nanowire FinFETs” published in Lecture Notes in Nanoscale Science and Technology, and the author of “Nanowire Growth and Mechanism of these Growth for Developing Novel Nanomaterials” published in the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
Dr. Ganji also seats on the Board of Directors of Index Corporation, a holding Company specialized in consulting. He has served as a board member of numerous organizations throughout his career. He possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills, as well as being a team player and motivator, disciplined and goal oriented, as well as a motivated individual/speaker. He has been an active member of the National Union For Democracy in Iran (NUFDI) since 2003, current serves as the president and Chairman of the organization.
Dr. Ganji is married with three children. He is a pilot and enjoys driving. He is member of AOPA (aircraft owners and pilot association) and FCA (Ferrari club of America). His hobbies are flying, driving, traveling and soccer.
